Possibilities NI contributes to research on lone parents, gender equality and employment, both within Northern Ireland and on an international level. The research reports below are an example of the breadth of our contributions:
Equality of Opportunity for Lone Parents, 2007 (Executive Summary) (full Research Report)
Lone Parents Speaking Out: the views of lone parents in Northern Ireland on employment, 2008 (full Research Report)
Research Report on the Situation of Lone Parents in the Supermom Partner Countries, 2011 (full Research Report as part of the Supermom Transfer of Innovation Project)
Possibilities is also active in several international partnerships, in which we work with many similar organisations to develop innovative initiatives aimed at improving access to education and employment for those facing disadvantage. We are currently funded by the EU Lifelong Learning Programme to transfer our lone-parent-specific training courses to other countries across Europe, and to import other programmes to Northern Ireland and tailor them for lone parents. More information about our transnational partnerships and projects can be found at our Empower sub-site. Our extensive experience with international partnerships and European funding streams means that we are also able to provide consultation and evaluation services for other organisations that are interested in conducting international projects. Please see our Transnational Partnership webpage for more information about the services we offer.
